CCS12 Theme: Cruise Opportunities and Challenges under the “Belt and Road Initiatives” Strategy


  The major strategy of "the Belt and Road Initiatives" is a new requirement for the development of the new era. It is a manifestation of China's neighborhood diplomacy featuring amity and peaceful development. It is also a new vision and focus of tourism development. The Silk Road is the most elite collection of tourism resources, bringing together 80% of the world's cultural heritages, and more than 60 countries and 4.4 billion people. According to the National Tourism Administration, it is estimated that China will transport 150 million Chinese tourists, consuming 200 billion US dollars in the countries along the "the Belt and Road" during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. In return, China will attract 85 million tourists from "the Belt and Road" countries to travel to China, driving about 110 billion US dollars of tourism consumption.
  CCS12 Organization Committee hereby set up the "The Belt and Road Initiatives" Theme Forum in conjunction with the national strategy. The forum invites countries, cities, ports and tourism bureau representatives along "the Belt and Road" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" to participate and make speeches on the topics of new realities markets and possibly new cruise lines. The event builds up a platform for cruise companies and Asian cruise cities to communicate and find out new business opportunities.
