From November 5th to 8th, the 18th China Cruise Shipping Conference(CCS18) — Asia’s most influential annual event in cruise industry — will be held in Nansha District, Guangzhou City. Organized by China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association(CCYIA), the conference aims to support the development of Guangzhou’s whole cruise industry chain.
This year, Guangdong Province has been attaching great importance to the development of the cruise industry, with consecutive policy rollouts highlighting its commitment. In March, the Peolple’s Government of Guangdong Province issued Several Measures to Promote High-Quality Tourism Development; April saw the release of Convenient Measures for International Cruise Supply; and May brought the Guangdong Consumption Boost Action Plan and Marine Economic Development Regulations. These initiatives underscore the province’s strategic focus on elevating its cruise economy.
As a core hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Nansha District boasts unique geographic advantages. By March 2025, the Nansha International Cruise Home Port, a linchpin for the cruise and yacht economy, had executed 52 voyages since resuming operations in 2024, offering routes to Japan, Vietnam, and Hong Kong, and served over 100,000 passengers, driving over ¥500 million in consumption.
Notably, the port signed a partnership with Adora Cruises last year. The second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, has completed hull integration and entered high-speed outfitting, set for delivery by late 2026. It will operate from Nansha as its primary home port, reinforcing Guangzhou’s “cruise + consumption” model as it cultivates an international consumption hub.
CCS18 will focus on fortifying the cruise industry chain and supply chain, promoting deep integration between the cruise economy and modern service sector productivity. The conference seeks to shape new industry advantages and inject robust momentum into sustainable growth for Guangzhou and the nation.
Concurrent with CCS18, the International Cruise Supply Exhibition will undergo a comprehensive upgrade in scale, exhibitor diversity, and business effectiveness. Over 100 premium cruise supply enterprises from South China and across the country will participate, covering the entire supply chain to facilitate trade cooperation and generate purchase orders.
