The 17th China Cruise Shipping Conference (CCS17) will be held in Tianjin from October 17th to October 19th this year. The topic of CCS17 is How to Create the Second Golden Decade of China’s Cruise Indusrty, industry leaders from cruise ports, shipping, tourism and construction sectors all over the world will attend to discuss the issue.
China Cruise Shipping Conference (CCS) is an authoritative platform for all parties in the global cruise industry, especially in Asia, to strengthen communication, cooperation and common development, which has directly promoted the internationalization of the development of Chinese cruise industry chain.
In 2006, Chinese first cruise port and the first homeport cruise ship was presented on the CCS conference;
In 2007, the National Development and Reform Commission held a symposium of cruise economy during the conference, which formed the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of Chinese Cruise Economy", later issued by The State Council in 2008, which was the first national cruise document in China;
In 2009, based on CCYIA's preliminary research and proposal, administrators from the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Public Security separately issued cruise policies on the conference;
In 2010, the General Administration of Customs hosted a symposium on cruise ports on the conference;
In 2011, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology firstly proposed the developing of Chinese cruise manufacturing industry on the conference;
In 2012, China Communications and Transportation Association and Tianjin Municipal government unveiled the "International Cruise Purchasing Alliance" on the conference;
In 2013, China National Tourism Administration announced the formulation of the "National Cruise Tourism Development Plan" on the conference;
In 2014, CSSC China, the Corporation and Fincantieri Group signed MOU on the conference, which was the very beginning signal of the later on important cooperation between CSSC and the Carnival Corp.; and the Ministry of Transport interpreted the newly issued "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Sustainable and Healthy Development of the Cruise Transport Industry" on the conference;
In 2015, the CEOs from the world largest cruise groups made their first collective appearance on the CCS conference; the Carnival Corporation announced global breaking news on the conference; and the National Tourism Administration held the National Cruise Tourism Promotion Conference during the conference, which was the first national cruise thematic work conference held by the National Tourism Administration;
In 2016, the CEOs of the world largest cruise groups once again collectively appeared on the conference, vice mayor of Tianjin city specially meet with CEOs and discussed advanced cooperation; the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology hosted a roundtable dialogue between the government and cruise companies during the conference to discuss the development policy and direction, and the supporting system frameworks of cruise manufacturing in China;
In 2017, all the heads from Chinese 10 major cruise ports appeared on the conference for the first time; and the conference sorted out the achievements and problems of Chinese cruise economy development in the past 10 years, and planned the development layout and direction of Chinese cruise economy in the next 10-15 years;
In 2018, conference guests from Germany, Russia, France, Finland, Malaysia, the USA, Japan, Sweden, Spain, Singapore, Italy, the UK, the Philippines, Hongkong China, and Taiwan China, mainland attenders included more than 20 provinces; the 5 heads of central ministries and commissions involved in the cruise industry, 6 large Chinese-central enterprises which had cruise business, 5 major international cruise companies operated in China, and 12 major cruise ports in the country all attended the conference; held Chinese-invested cruise forum for the first time in China.
In 2019, Guangzhou Nansha homeport opened and held the Inaugural Sailing Ceremony on the conference; the Ministry of Transport and the State Administration for Market Regulation published very important information about the national cruise industry on the conference; the conference attracted 66 journalists from 35 medias from home and abroad;
In 2022, CLIA and CCYIA signed a MOU on the conference; the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism jointly issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Cruise and Yacht Equipment and Industry" on the conference; and 260 guests (260 limited by local government) fully attended the event, which was the first national cruise event in China after the epidemic;
In 2023, the National Immigration Administration held a forum on the visa-free entry policy of foreign group by cruise ships on the conference, and the Crew Department of the Maritime Safety Administration held a symposium on the development of cruise crew. The organizing committee arranged the conference guests to spend an enjoyable night on a cruise ship for the first time. More than 500 entrepreneurs and senior personnel from the domestic and overseas cruise industry attended the conference, which was the first high-quality and high-level cruise industry communication and cooperation event after China announced the resumption of cruise industry.
In 2024, CCS17 aims to further strengthen Tianjin’s cruise industry chain and supply chain, promote the integrated development of cruise economy and modern producer services, and promote the high-quality and sustainable development of the cruise industry in Tianjin and in China.
