CLIA Global Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago spoke of closer collaboration with CCYIA In his welcome address at CCSC15: “As we continue to build momentum for our industry’s recovery, we are looking forward to working collaboratively and more closely with CCYIA to support our industry’s future evolution.”
CLIA Global President and CEO Kelly Craighead said: “This MOU helps advance our commitment to mutual cooperation and knowledge sharing, which has been so critical to the responsible resumption of cruise and sustainable industry growth.”
At the 15th China Cruise Shipping Conference (CCS15) held in Guangzhou on August 18, Pierfrancesco VAGO, Global Chairman of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), and Song Dexing, President of the China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA), signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation between the two organizations.
After nearly a year of friendly consultations, with respective decision-making body and legal personnel’s consent, CLIA and CCYIA reached a consensus on both sides of the cooperation, which covers the following five aspects:
1.The two sides will work together to provide important cruise lines members on both sides with more effective and more valuable services.
2.To achieve mutual recognition of the membership of the two associations and jointly represent and serve the interests of members.
3.Both sides recognize their respective expertise and areas of concern, jointly providing a wider range of services to members;
4.CCYIA will represent the cruise industry and lead the dialogue and exchange with Chinese government departments; while CLIA will represent the cruise industry, commiting to participate in the International Maritime Organization and other international organizations, promote international cruise market and train the travel agency, etc.
5.Both sides will jointly commit to the cooperation of cruise tourism-related training, including the establishment of long-term cruise education and training institutions and other training programs, in order to promote the construction of the cruise industry talent team in China, Asia and even the world.
